Tdci Defender Speaker & Tweeter Upgrade

Upgrade the factory speakers in your post-2007 Defender Tdci/Puma with the Focal ES100KE 2-way component speaker kit.

Part of Focal’s Elite K2 Excellence range, the ES100KE kit includes separate 100mm woofers and 52mm tweeters, giving a noticeable improvement in clarity, detail and overall sound quality compared with the original Defender speaker setup.

The 100mm woofers replace the factory lower dash speakers, while the tweeters fit into the factory dashboard tweeter positions on post-2007 Defender Tdci models.

Defender Tdci / Puma Fitment

The Focal ES100KE is well suited to the post-2007 Defender Tdci/Puma models.

The supplied 52mm tweeters are approximately 0.5mm smaller in diameter than the original factory tweeters. When fitting, this can be easily resolved by applying a couple of wraps of electrical tape around the base of the tweeter until it sits securely in the factory dashboard location.

Pre-2007 Defender Fitment

Although the ES100KE is ideal for post-2007 Tdci/Puma Defenders, it can also be fitted to earlier Defender models.

For pre-2007 vehicles, the kit includes mini tweeter pods for surface mounting. This is useful if you do not want to cut holes into the dashboard to mount the tweeters.

Supplied Crossover Kit

The ES100KE kit includes crossover units designed to improve sound quality and allow the woofers and tweeters to work correctly together.

The crossover acts as a simple junction box. The original speaker wiring feeds into the crossover, then separate outputs go to the woofer and tweeter.

The crossover units can be hidden behind the dashboard trim or mounted neatly to the lower section of the dashboard.

Fitment Notes

For post-2007 Defender Tdci/Puma models, the ES100KE speakers are a direct speaker upgrade, with a minor adjustment required to secure the tweeters neatly in the original dashboard openings.

For earlier Defenders, the supplied tweeter pods allow the tweeters to be mounted without cutting the dashboard.
